Setting switch IP address using the front panel
See Figure 26 for the location and functions of each button on the front panel of the
2109 Model S16 Switch.
The switch IP addresses can be set from the front panel of the switch, for those
switches that have a four button front panel. Refer to the switch reference manual
for information about the buttons on the front panel of your switch.
1.
Select the configuration menu using the Tab/Esc button.
2.
Scroll down on configuration options until the option Ethernet IP Address
appears and select this option using the Tab/Esc button.
3.
Use the Tab/Esc button to move from one IP address value to the next.
4.
Scroll Up or Down to set each of the four numeric IP address values.
5.
When all values are set, press the Tab/Esc button to finish.
6.
Confirm the IP address is correct (select the Yes option to store to flash).
7.
Switch will store IP address in flash memory.
8.
Repeat the above. To ensure full access in some networks, you may have to set
the netmask and gateway address for the switch. Consult your network
administrator to determine if these additional addresses must be configured on
the switch.
