Hot-swap card Complete the following steps to remove the hot-swap card. Note: v Read "Installation guidelines" on page 45. v Read the safety notices at "Safety information" on page 169. v Read "Handling electrostatic discharge-sensitive devices" on page 172. 1. Turn off the server. 2. Disconnect all external cables and power cords from the back of the server. 3. Remove the server cover (see "Removing the left-side cover" on page 55). 4. Remove all adapters and spacers (see "Working with adapters" on page 60). 5. Disconnect the hot-swap card cable from the system board. 6. Press the two tabs on the hot-swap card and remove it from the chassis. Note: It might be easier to remove this component if the server is placed on its side. 7. To replace the hot-swap card, line up the two tabs with the notches on the chassis and snap the assembly into place; then, connect the cable to the system board. 1.
Turn
off
the
server.
2.
Disconnect
all
external
cables
and
power
cords
from
the
back
of
the
server.
3.
Remove
the
server
cover
(see
“Removing
the
left-side
cover”
on
page
55).
4.
Remove
all
adapters
and
spacers
(see
“Working
with
adapters”
on
page
60).
5.
Disconnect
the
hot-swap
card
cable
from
the
system
board.
6.
Press
the
two
tabs
on
the
hot-swap
card
and
remove
it
from
the
chassis.
Note:
It
might
be
easier
to
remove
this
component
if
the
server
is
placed
on
its
side.
7.
To
replace
the
hot-swap
card,
line
up
the
two
tabs
with
the
notches
on
the
chassis
and
snap
the
assembly
into
place;
then,
connect
the
cable
to
the
system
board.
