POST error codes The following table provides an abbreviated list of the error messages that might appear during POST. See the Problem Determination and Service Guide on the IBM System x Documentation CD for more information about the POST error messages. To check for updated technical information, complete the following steps. Note: Changes are made periodically to the IBM Web site. The actual procedure might vary slightly from what is described in this document. 1. Go to http://www.ibm.com/systems/support/. 2. Under Product support, click System x. 3. Under Popular links, click Publications lookup . 4. From the Product family menu, select System 7977 and click Continue. v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem is solved. v See the Problem Determination and Service Guide on the IBM System x Documentation CD to determine which components are customer replaceable units (CRU) and which components are field replaceable units (FRU). v If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must be performed only by a trained service technician.
