4 Installing the Printer Driver 4.1 When This Machine and the Computer are Connected Using a Network Connection 4.1.1 Installing the Printer Driver Using the Add Printer Wizard ✎ Note In order to perform IPP printing operations, the printer driver must be installed so that IPP printing can be set up when the printer driver is installed. For further details on IPP printing, refer to "IPP Printing (Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003)" on page 6-8. For Windows 98/Me/2000/NT 4.0 1 While Windows is running, load the CD-ROM into the computer's CD- ROM drive. 2 In Windows, click the [Start] button, point to "Settings", and then click "Printers". 3 Double-click the "Add Printer" icon. The Add Printer Wizard starts up. 4 Follow the on-screen instructions. 5 On the screen for selecting the printer connection, select Local printer. 4-2
