8 Using the Scan Functions 8.1.1 Environment Required for the Scan Functions The following environment is required to send image data (send and receive for Internet faxing) using the scan functions. ✎ Note All scan functions can only be used under a TCP/IP network environment. Scan to E-mail Environment Required to Send Image Data Mail server (on the network) Environment Required to Receive Image Data Mail client computer Scan to FTP server FTP server (on the network) FTP client computer Scan to PC FTP server application Client computer (on the receiving computer) Scan to HDD Optional hard disk (installed into this machine) Web browser or BOX Utility Scan to Internet Mail server (on the FAX network) Internet FAX reception Mail server Other Limitations A maximum file size may be specified on the mail server. The destination must have a device that can receive Internet faxes. A maximum file size may be specified on the mail server. 8-2
