If your router is the base station, it can function as the "parent" for up to four other access points. 7. Click the Apply button. Your changes are saved. Set Up a Repeater To avoid conflicts with the wireless connection to the base station, uUse a wired Ethernet connection to set up the repeater unit. Note: If you are using the router as the base station with a non-NETGEAR router as the repeater, you might need to change more configuration settings. In particular, you should disable the DHCP server function on the access point that is the repeater.  To configure the router as a repeater: 1. Log in to the router that you want to use as a repeater. 2. Select Basic > Wireless Settings and verify that the wireless settings match the base unit exactly. The wireless security option has to be set to WEP or None. 3. Select Advanced > Wireless Repeating Function. 4. Select the Enable Wireless Repeating Function check box. 5. Select

Advanced > Wireless Repeating Function

Select the
Enable Wireless Repeating Function
check box.

Select the
Wireless Repeater
radio button.

Fill in the Repeater IP Address field.
