Options While Composing a Message 1. While composing a message, press the Menu Key to reveal additional messaging options. • Attach: Add an attachment to the message. Options are: - Slideshow: Create up to a 10 slide slideshow to attach to the message. - Pictures: Opens your Gallery of photos. Touch an existing photo to attach it to your message. - Videos: Opens your Gallery of videos. Touch an existing video to attach it to your message. - Audio: Opens the My Files app. Navigate to a music or audio file. Touch the circle to the right of the audio file to turn it green, then touch OK. - Capture picture: Opens the Camera app so you can take a new photo and attach it to your message by touching Save. - Capture video: Opens the Camera app in video mode so you can record a video, review the video, and attach it to your message by touching Save. - Record audio: Opens the Voice Recorder app so you can record a new audio clip and attach it to your message by touching Menu Key ➔ Add. - Contacts: Opens your contacts list so you can touch an existing contact and attach the contact's name and telephone number to your message by touching OK. - Calendar: Displays existing Calendar events so you can touch an event to attach it to your message. - Memo: Displays your existing memos so you can touch one or more memos to attach them to your message by touching OK. • Add text: Copy text from your contacts, your calendar, or a memo to add to your message. This is a convenient feature for adding names, phone numbers, events, and so on, to your message. For more information, refer to "Adding Additional Text" on page 98. • Insert smiley: Add emoticons, such as a happy face, to your message. The emoticon is inserted in the text where the cursor is positioned. • Discard: Delete the message without saving it to your Drafts folder. Adding Additional Text You can copy text such as names, phone numbers, and events from your Contacts, Calendar, or a Memo. 1. While composing a message, press the Menu Key ➔ Add text. 2. At the Add text screen, select one of the following: • Contacts: Displays your contacts list so you can touch an existing contact and check mark the contact information you want to add to your message by touching Add. • Calendar: Displays existing Calendar events so you can touch an event to add event name, date, and time to your message.
