4.6 Keyboard 4 Replacement Procedures 4.6 Keyboard Removing the Keyboard To remove the keyboard, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 4-10. 1. Turn the computer off. Disconnect the AC adapter and any optional units from the computer. Remove the battery as described in Section 4.2. 2. Release the keyboard brace at six points by lifting it from right to left. Remove the keyboard brace. 3. Remove one M2x4 screw that secures the keyboard. NOTE: The keyboard brace and M2x4 screw may have already been removed in Section 4.5, Optional Memory Module. 4. Raise the keyboard toward the display to access the keyboard cable. 5. Remove two M2x3 silver screws from the keyboard straps on the right and left. 6. Removing the Keyboard
To remove the keyboard, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 4-10.
1.
Turn the computer off. Disconnect the AC adapter and any optional units from the
computer. Remove the battery as described in Section 4.2.
2.
Release the
keyboard brace
at six points by lifting it from right to left. Remove the
keyboard brace.
3.
Remove
one M2x4 screw
that secures the keyboard.
NOTE:
The keyboard brace and M2x4 screw may have already been removed in
Section 4.5, Optional Memory Module.
4.
Raise the keyboard toward the display to access the keyboard cable.
5.
Remove
two M2x3 silver screws
from the keyboard straps on the right and left.
6.
Disconnect the
flexible cable
from
PJ6
and remove the keyboard.
