The Silent Mode Menu Options include: The camera sound effects are deactivated. ON Sounds are not heard for: Power On, Power Off, Shutter 'Click' and Self-Timer. OFF The camera sound effects are activated and can be heard. 1) Press the HOME button and then tap the Setup icon. 2) Tap the Silent Mode menu icon to open the menu options. 3) Tap 'ON' or 'OFF' and then tap SAVE & EXIT to select and confirm the highlighted menu option and return to the Setup Main Menu Screen. 4) From the Setup Main Menu Screen:  Tap another menu icon to select a different menu item.  Tap Exit to return to the Home Menu screen. Auto Off Menu You can use the Auto Off feature in order to conserve you camera's battery life. The designated time represents when your digital video camera will automatically power off. When the camera sits idle for the designated period of time, the camera will shut off completely and will need to be turned on again with the power button before the next use.
