Using the twin needle

Utility Stitches Lower the needle into the fabric at the beginning of the d stitching, and then start sewing. Lower the needle at the upper-right corner. ■ Using the twin needle With the twin needle, you can sew two parallel lines of the same stitch with two different threads. Both upper threads should have the same thickness and quality.  The fabric is fed toward the back of the machine, as usual. After you have sewn to the corner, stop the machine, e and then select stitch . Start sewing. f IMPORTANT • Only use the twin needle (2/11 needle), and never use the needle threader with the twin needle. Otherwise, the needle may break or the machine may be damaged. Touch a and install the twin needle.  The fabric is fed to the right. After you have sewn to the corner, stop the machine, g and then select stitch . Pass the first upper thread behind the needle bar b thread guide. • For details, refer to steps a through i of "Threading the upper thread" on page 25. Manually thread the left needle with the first upper c thread. Pass the thread through the eye of the needle from the front.  The fabric is fed forward. After you have sewn to the corner, stop the machine, i and then select stitch . Start sewing. j Insert the horizontal spool pin onto the bobbin winder d shaft. Insert the spool pin so that it is perpendicular to the bobbin winder shaft. 1 Bobbin winder 1 shaft  The fabric is fed to the left. After you have sewn to the corner, stop the machine, k and then select stitch again. Sew 3-5 stitches over the original starting stitches and l then stop. Memo • The feeding direction of the fabric differs depending on the stitch that is selected. Be sure to guide the fabric while machine is sewing. Swing the spool pin toward the left so that it is e horizontal. 70

After you have sewn to the corner, stop the machine,
and then select stitch

and then select stitch

and then select stitch
again.

Sew 3-5 stitches over the original starting stitches and
then stop.

Memo
