Sending Faxes Directory Dialing Directory dialing allows you to look up the other party's name you registered and retrieve the number for dialling.This feature is convenient when you know the other party's name but cannot recall the one-touch speed dialling key, the code for coded speed dialling, or group dialling where the number is registered. 1 Press [Directory]. appears if there are no numbers registered, and the display returns to dial entry mode. 2 Press a numeric key to enter the first letter of the name of the party you are searching for. 4 For example, if you want to search for a name that starts with the letter "H", press 4 (GHI) twice. Entries starting with the letter you entered are displayed. If the entry does not appear for the key you pressed, the entry is not registered for speed dialing. Dial the other party's fax/telephone number with the numeric keys (see "Regular Dialing," on p. 4-7.), or register the fax/telephone number (see Chapter 3 "Speed Dialing".). ● To check registered names ❑ Pressing [ (+)] displays the names of other parties in alphabetical order. ❑ Pressing [ (-)] displays them in reverse order. ❑ When you reach the last name, the display returns to the first name. 3 With the name you want to dial displayed, press [Set]. Directory dialing allows you to look up the other party’s name you registered and
retrieve the number for dialling.This feature is convenient when you know the other
party’s name but cannot recall the one-touch speed dialling key, the code for coded
speed dialling, or group dialling where the number is registered.

Press [Directory].
<NOT REGISTERED> appears if there are no numbers registered, and the display
returns to dial entry mode.

Press a numeric key to enter the first letter of the name of the
party you are searching for.
For example, if you want to search for a name that starts with the letter “H”, press 4
(GHI) twice.
Entries starting with the letter you entered are displayed.
If the entry does not appear for the key you pressed, the entry is not registered for
speed dialing.
Dial the other party's fax/telephone number with the numeric keys (see “Regular
Dialing,” on p. 4-7.), or
register the fax/telephone number (see Chapter 3
“Speed
Dialing”.).
To check registered names
Pressing [
(+)] displays the names of other parties in alphabetical order.
Pressing [
(-)] displays them in reverse order.
When you reach the last name, the display returns to the first name.
