Dialing an Overseas Number (With Pauses) When you dial or register an overseas number, you may need to insert a pause within the number. 4 NOTE You cannot insert a pause after the last number you entered for manual sending. Sending Faxes 1 Place the document on the platen glass or load it in the ADF ➞ press [FAX]. For details on the types of documents you can fax, their requirements, and how to place or load documents, see Chapter 3, "Document Handling," in the Basic Guide. 2 Adjust any necessary settings for your document. • Press [Image Quality] to select the fax resolution. (See "Adjusting the Image Quality (Fax Resolution)," on p. 4-5.) • Press [Exposure] to select the scan density. (See "Adjusting the Exposure (Scan Density)," on p. 4-6.) 3 Use the numeric keys to dial the international access code.
