Fixing Unit (Inside the Main Unit) If a paper jam occurs in the fixing unit area, a screen similar to the one shown below appears on the touch panel display. Check the location of the paper jam, and follow the procedure described below, and the procedure that appears on the touch panel display, to remove the jammed paper. Troubleshooting 1 2 Press the button on the left cover Push down the green fixing lever. of the main unit, and open the left cover. The parts located around the exit slot guide and the fixing unit are subject to high temperatures. When removing jammed paper, take care not to touch anything in this area except the lever. 11‑8
