Linksys Analog Telephone Adapters (ATAs) Chapter 2 Getting Started Table 1-17 SPA8000 Back Panel Port AUX Ethernet Power Function Ethernet maintenance port. Connect to a network device, such as a PC or a switch with an Ethernet cable for accessing the administration web server on the SPA8000. The attached device is assigned an IP address dynamically by the internal DHCP server provided by the SPA8000. Connect to a switch, router or broadband (cable/DSL) modem for access to the Internet. Note When connected directly to the Internet, connectivity between FXS devices on the SPA8000 depends on the Outbound Proxy service provided by the ITSP. Connect to the 12-volt DC power adapter. Caution This 12-volt power adapter is to be used only with the SPA8000. Using it with any other Linksys product may damage the unit. WRP400 The WRP400 provides an ATA with two FXS ports and a Wireless-G multiport IP router (see Figure 1-11). The WRP400 provides connectivity to an analog telephone as well as Internet connectivity to a LAN with a built-in four-port switch.
