Using Backlight Correction If you have photographic images that are too dark because of backlighting, you can remove the shadows with Backlight Correction. This feature works in both Home and Professional Mode, but Professional Mode lets you control the level of correction you want to apply. Before After 1. Preview your image, then marquee-select the area you want to scan. 2. In Home Mode, select Backlight Correction in the Image Adjustments section. Getting the Most From Your Scanner
Using Backlight Correction
If you have photographic images that are too dark because of backlighting, you can
remove the shadows with Backlight Correction. This feature works in both Home and
Professional Mode, but Professional Mode lets you control the level of correction you
want to apply.
1.
Preview your image, then marquee-select the area you want to scan.

in the Image Adjustments section.
In Professional Mode, scroll down to the Adjustments section and then select
