v If you plan to use a RAID adapter to control internal hot-swap hard disk drives, disconnect the SCSI cable from the SCSI backplane signal connector (J8) on the system board and connect it to the RAID adapter. The following illustration shows the cable routing if you are installing the RAID adapter in PCI-X slot 2. RAID adapter SCSI cable SCSI backplane signal connector (J8) to hard disk drives Note: See the documentation that comes with the RAID adapter for any additional cabling instructions. That documentation also provides information about installing the RAID software and configuring the RAID adapter. v If you plan to install an optional IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter, install it in PCI-X slot 1. Use the ribbon cable that comes with the Remote Supervisor Adapter to connect the 20-pin connector on the rear edge of the adapter to the Remote Supervisor Adapter connector (J2) on the system board. For details about installing a Remote Supervisor Adapter, see the documentation that comes with the adapter. The following illustration shows the cable routing.
