Settings Pages Tests to confirm that the settings on this page are correct. When the Test button is pressed, this machine tries to connect to the LDAP server. Advanced > Management > LDAP > Ext Address Book The printing system can refer to the address book which is on the LDAP server as an external address book and assign a FAX number and E-mail address to the destination. Display Mode Selects the default display mode from Display from the first name and Display from the family name. Search Criteria • Display Name Enter the name of the address to search. • LDAP Attribute Enter the LDAP attribute of the address to search. Return Value • LDAP Attribute Enter the LDAP attribute to return. • Job Type Select job type from E-mail, FAX, and i-FAX. Optional Return Value • Display Name Enter the name of the optional fields. • LDAP Attribute Enter the LDAP attribute of the optional fields. Advanced > Management > Authentication > General Setting Authentication allows only the predefined users to access pages. In addition, you can discriminate users by giving either the General User or Administrator privilege to each user. Before using the authentication function, you have to define those users. For how to define users, refer to Basic > Security > User Login on page 6-10. Authenticate Mode Specifies whether to enable or disable the authentication function. To disable it, select Off. To enable it, select either of the following. • Local Authentication Users are registered in this machine and one-to-one authentication is performed between this machine and a PC. • Network Authentication This machine and relevant PCs need to be under the management of a Windows domain network.
