Backing Up Your System Backing Up Your System To back up your system or reinstall the operating system, your ThinkPad computer has the following features: The ThinkPad Customization CD The Recovery CD The Diskette Factory program ConfigSafe The ThinkPad Web site or bulletin board Recovering Lost or Damaged Software Check the following ThinkPad Web site for the latest information. When updates become available, they will be posted on: http://www.ibm.com/thinkpad From this Web site, you can get the driver diskette image for OS/2, Windows 3.1, or DOS that is not supported with the Diskette Factory program. Using the ThinkPad Customization CD The ThinkPad Customization CD is provided for your installation convenience; you can customize your system using this CD. It contains all the software applications and hardware device drivers for your computer. It also contains device drivers and installation instructions for other operating systems, such as Windows NT. If you need to reinstall a software application or a hardware device driver, put the ThinkPad Customization CD in your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. The menu of the features appears automatically. The ThinkPad Customization CD is compatible with Internet Explorer Version 4.0 or later. Some functions are available in other Web browsers. See the instructions printed on the CD label for more information.
