Troubleshooting 80 Check if you are using a PABX telephone system Private Automated Branch Exchange (PABX) is a telephone network that allows a single access number to offer multiple lines to outside callers. It also provides a range of external lines to internal callers or personnel. If you are using a PABX, then do the following: 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup. 2 From the Fax Send Settings section, click Behind a PABX. 3 Click Submit. Confirm that you have entered the proper dialing prefix 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup. 2 From the Fax Send Settings section, confirm the value entered in the Dial Prefix field. 3 If necessary, add the dialing prefix that you want to use, and then click Submit. Reduce the Max Send speed 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup. 2 From the Fax Send Settings section, reduce the Max Speed. 3 Click Submit. Confirm that you have entered a station ID and station number 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup. 2 Make sure that the Fax Name and Fax Number fields are not blank. 3 Click Submit. Generate fax logs and identify the status message From the Embedded Web Server, click Reports > Fax Job Log. Networking problems Printer is not communicating on the network Try one or more of the following: Check the network status 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Reports > Device Settings. 2 From the Network/Ports section, check the View Card Status. 3 If the printer is disconnected, then do one of the following: • For wired connection, make sure that the Ethernet cable is properly connected. • For wireless connection, check the printer wireless connection. Check if you are using a PABX telephone system

If you are using a PABX, then do the following:

Analog Fax Setup

From the Fax Send Settings section, click
Behind a PABX

Submit

Confirm that you have entered the proper dialing prefix

From the Embedded Web Server, click
Settings

Fax Settings

Analog Fax Setup

From the Fax Send Settings section, confirm the value entered in the Dial Prefix field.

If necessary, add the dialing prefix that you want to use, and then click
Submit
.
Reduce the Max Send speed

From the Embedded Web Server, click

Fax Settings

Analog Fax Setup

From the Fax Send Settings section, reduce the Max Speed.

Submit

Confirm that you have entered a station ID and station number

From the Embedded Web Server, click
Settings

Fax Settings

Analog Fax Setup

Make sure that the Fax Name and Fax Number fields are not blank.

From the Embedded Web Server, click

Networking problems
Printer is not communicating on the network
Try one or more of the following:
Check the network status
