Option Auto (default setting) Off Description The AF-assist illuminator lights automatically when the subject is dimly lit. The illuminator has a range of about 2.0 m (6 ft 7 in.) at the maximum wideangle position and about 1.1 m (3 ft 7 in.) at the maximum telephoto position. Note that for some scene modes such as Museum (A 41) and Pet portrait (A 43), the AF-assist illuminator may not light even when Auto is selected. The AF-assist illuminator does not light. The camera may be unable to focus under dim lighting. Reference Section E78
