Dynamic Host Configuration Protocole (DHCP) Network protocol the role of which is to automatically set up the TCP/IP settings of computer hardware by automatically assigning it with an IP address. G.711 Audio coding standard, more specifically used in human voice coding telephony. Using this standard is equivalent to coding the voice signal at 64 kbps. The G.711 format is suitable for fax transfers when the T38 format is not available. G.729 Audio coding standard, more specifically used in human voice coding telephony. Using this standard is equivalent to coding the voice signal at 8 kbps. It is mostly used by voice over IP operators. The G.729 format is not used for the Fax pass-through mode as it degrades signals. Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Protocol designed to set up, change and terminate multimedia sessions. It is responsible for authenticating and locating multiple participants, and also for negotiating the types of media that can be used by participants. T.38 Protocol used to convert FAX data into IP packets. The fax is then conveyed by the IP network in real time. Trivial File Transfert Protocol (TFTP) File transfer protocol. This protocol is principally used to remotely load firmware and setup files in computer hardware. User guide 11
