Troubleshooting ■ XM Satellite Radio (U.S.A. and Canada models only) If an operation takes longer than usual or an error occurs, one of the following messages may appear in the front panel display. In this case, read the cause and follow the corresponding remedies. Status message CHECK XM TUNER CHECK ANTENNA UPDATING NO SIGNAL LOADING OFF AIR - - - ■ Remote control Cause Remedy See page XM Mini-Tuner and Home Dock are not Check XM Mini-Tuner and Home Dock connections. 74 connected to the XM jack of this unit or do not work properly. The antenna is not connected to XM Home Dock Check the connection of the antenna and orient it for the best 74 correctly. reception level. The XM user encryption code is being updated. Wait until the encryption code is updated. - The signal is too weak. Adjust the orientation of the antenna of Home Dock for the 74 best reception level. It takes longer than 4 seconds for audio or text Wait until the decoding process has finished. - data to be decoded. The XM Satellite Radio channel you selected is Check the channel number again or select another XM Satellite - not currently broadcasting any signals. Radio channel. The Channel Station ID (SID) is no longer available. No artist name or song title is available. No channels are available for the selected category. Select another channel category by pressing MPROGRAM on 75 the front panel (or 9CAT. l / h on the remote control) repeatedly. Problem The remote control does not work or function properly. Direct sunlight or lighting (from an inverter type of fluorescent lamp, etc.) is striking the remote control sensor of this unit. The batteries are weak. The remote control ID of the remote control and this unit do not match. Even if the remote control code is correctly set, there are some models that do not respond to the remote control. The batteries of this remote control and/or the other remote control are too weak. The distance between the two remote controls is too much or too little. The signal coding or modulation of the other remote control is not compatible with this remote control. Memory capacity is full. Remedy The remote control will function within a maximum range of 6 m (20 ft) and no more than 30 degrees off-axis from the front panel. Reposition this unit. Replace all batteries. Using alkaline batteries is strongly recommended. Set the backlight mode to "OFF". Set the operation mode selector correctly. When operating this unit, set it to the FAMP position.When operating the component selected by the input selector button, set it to the FSOURCE position.When operating the TV, set it to the FTV position. Set the remote control code correctly using "List of remote control codes" at the end of this manual. Try setting another code of the same manufacturer using "List of remote control codes" at the end of this manual. Match the remote control ID of this unit and the remote control. Program the necessary functions independently into the programmable buttons using the Learn feature. Replace the batteries. Place the remote controls at the proper distance. Learning is not possible.
