FM/AM tuning Before performing the following operations, set the operation mode selector on the remote control to FSOURCE and then press 3 TUNER. Manual tuning If the signal received from the station you want to select is weak, tune into it manually. Note Manually tuning into an FM station automatically switches the tuner to monaural reception to increase the signal quality. 1 Rotate the DINPUT selector on the front panel to select "TUNER" as the input source. 2 Press KBAND to select the desired reception band. "FM" or "AM" appears in the front panel display. 3 Press ITUNING MODE so that the AUTO indicator disappears from the front panel display. (U.S.A. model) A FM 88.9 MHz No colon (:) If a colon (:) appears in the front panel display, this unit is in the preset station tuning mode, and automatic tuning is not possible. Press LPRESET/TUNING to turn the colon (:) off. 4 Rotate MPROGRAM to tune into the desired station manually. • Rotate MPROGRAM rightward to tune into a higher frequency. • Rotate MPROGRAM leftward to tune into a lower frequency. Direct frequency tuning Use this feature tune into the desired station directly by entering the frequency. 1 Press 8BAND on the remote control repeatedly to select the desired reception band. "FM" or "AM" appears in the front panel display. 2 Make sure that a colon (:) does not appear in the front panel display. (U.S.A. model) A FM 88.9 MHz No colon (:) y If a colon (:) appears in the front panel display, you cannot enter the frequency of the desired station. Press LPRESET/TUNING on the front panel to turn the colon (:) off. 3 Enter the frequency of the desired station by pressing the numeric buttons (B). Example: To tune into 103.7 MHz CLASSICAL 1 1 STRAIGHT 0 LIVE/CLUB 3 ENHANCER 7 (U.S.A. model) FM 1--.- MHz FM 10-.- MHz Internal Source Operation FM 103.- MHz FM 103.7 MHz TUNED y • If you enter the number that is inappropriate for the frequency, "ERROR" appears in the front panel display and then this unit automatically tunes into the last selected station. • If this unit cannot tune into the station you enter the frequency of, this unit automatically tuned into the last selected station. • (Australia model only) You can omit entering the decimal place when you are attempting to tune into a station which frequency ends with "0". 69 En
