Figure 3-8. sysinfo FRU Example power Synopsis power status power off [-force] | on | cycle | reset Description This command displays the current power status of the managed system, turns the system on or off, or resets the system. See Figure 3-9. Subcommands • status - Displays the current power status of the system, the returned value is on or off. • on - Turns on the managed system. • off - Issues a "graceful shutdown" IPMI command. NOTE: This reboot feature mimics restarting the system using the server's power button. A graceful shutdown of the server operating system may not be possible when the server software stops responding, or if you are not logged as an administrator at a local Windows console. In these cases, you must specify a forced reboot instead of graceful reboot of Windows. Using the BMC Management Utility 67
