III. INSTALLATION INSTALLATION OVERVIEW Hewlett-Packard recommends that you install the printer software before connecting the printer to your computer with a parallel or USB cable. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Windows 95 and Windows NT Only printer driver installation is supported on these operating systems. The HP toolbox software is not supported on these operating systems. You may use the Windows operating system's Add Printer utility to install the printer drivers. The printer drivers for a particular language and operating system (OS) can be found in the corresponding folder on the software CD: \drivers\ Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, and Windows XP The full HP LaserJet 1010 series software installation is supported on these operating systems. If the 'New Hardware Found' message appears on the computer screen and you have not installed the printer software, insert the software CD, browse and select the drive with the software CD, click 'Next', and follow the instructions. Macintosh Operating Systems 9.x Only printer driver installation is supported on the Macintosh 9.x operating systems. INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

Windows 95 and Windows NT
Only printer driver installation is supported on these operating systems. The HP toolbox software
is not supported on these operating systems. You may use the Windows operating system's Add
Printer utility to install the printer drivers. The printer drivers for a particular language and
operating system (OS) can be found in the corresponding folder on the software CD:
