Configuring TCP/IP Parameters Using the control panel of your printer, you can manually configure these TCP/IP parameters: • You can configure BOOTP, which automatically downloads configuration data over the network (this is the default setting), or • You can enter these parameters individually: • IP address (4 bytes) • Subnet mask (4 bytes) • Syslog server IP address (4 bytes) • Default gateway (4 bytes) • TCP connection timeout (in seconds) NOTE A valid IP address is required for proper operation of the card on a TCP/IP network. NOTE For DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) operation, BOOTP must be enabled. If an IP address is configured through DHCP and is subsequently changed through the control panel, the DHCP assigned address is released. If a printer is configured through DHCP, and you manually change the subnet mask or default gateway through the control panel, you should also change the IP address.
