1 Pre-Boot Diagnostics What to Do if You Get an Error Code What to Do if You Get an Error Code Contact your support provider and report the failure. The Pre-Boot Microcontroller failure codes allows manual and automated interpretation of the computer's failure. When using manual interpretation, you may be asked to provide the following information: • The number of beeps. • The computer model and serial number. Your support provider can interpret the numbers of beeps if you place a telephone handset near the computer and replay the failure code. When using automated interpretation you simply have to place a telephone handset near the computer and replay the failure code. Your support provider is able to decode the computer model, its serial number and the failure code.
