7 The Support Ticket Creating a Support Ticket The default file name of the Support Ticket is HPSUPPT.TXT. You cannot change this file name, but you can specify a directory where to store this file. The Support Ticket can be stored on a floppy disk or in a temporary area, and it can be viewed on the screen. NOTE If you choose to store the Support Ticket on a floppy disk, ensure that the disk is formatted and has sufficient free space. If you want to keep a Support Ticket, ensure that you copy it to a safe place before creating the new one. You can do this by copying the Support Ticket file to another floppy disk or to a suitable directory on your hard disk drive. Viewing the Support Ticket Once the Support Ticket has been successfully created, you can view it as follows: • If e-Diagtools is located on the HP Utility Partition, use menu option 5 "Support Ticket" to open the Support Ticket viewer • Press F7 after the Support Ticket has been successfully created • When you exit e-Diagtools, open the HPSUPPT.TXT file using a text editor such as Microsoft Windows Notepad. • For Notebook PCs, use the 'e-Diagtools for Windows' application English 43
