C Connect Printer to a LocalTalk Network Note Your HP LaserJet 6P/6MP printer does not come with LocalTalk network cables. You must obtain cables separately. Use a standard LocalTalk network cable and connector kit, such as the HP LocalTalk Network Cable Kit. (See page 2-20 for ordering information.) You will need one connector kit for each printer on your network. Additionally, each Macintosh computer on your network requires its own connector kit. Figure C-1 Connect to the End of a Network 1 Turn the printer off. Insert the connector box cable into the LocalTalk port of the printer. 2 Insert one end of the network cable into the connector box. 3 If the connector box is not self-terminating, insert a terminating resistor into the connector box. 4 Insert the other end of the cable into the last connector box on the network. Connect Printer to a LocalTalk Network
Note
Your HP LaserJet 6P/6MP printer does not come with LocalTalk network
cables. You must obtain cables separately. Use a standard LocalTalk
network cable and connector kit, such as the HP LocalTalk Network Cable

Connect to the End of a Network

Turn the printer off. Insert the connector box cable into the LocalTalk
port of the printer.

Insert one end of the network cable into the connector box.

If the connector box is not self-terminating, insert a terminating resistor
into the connector box.

Insert the other end of the cable into the last connector box on the network.
(Remove the terminating resistor if necessary.) Turn the printer on.
