1 2 3,4 5 Loading Paper into the Optional Lower Cassette 1 Pull the Lower Cassette out of the base. 2 Adjust the cassette for the paper size you want to load by moving the side paper guides and rear paper guide. The rear guide must click in the correct position for the paper size you are printing. 3 Slide approximately 500 sheets of paper into the cassette, not to extend beyond the limit mark on the sides. Paper loading differs by size. A. Load Letter or A4 paper with the top of the page toward the left side of the Lower Cassette, side-to-be-printed up (shown in illustration 3). B. Load 11x17, legal, A3, or JIS B4 paper with top of the page toward the front of the printer, side-to-be-printed up. 4 Press down on all four corners of the paper stack to ensure the paper rests flat in the cassette, without bending the paper. The paper stack must be in contact with the front slanted wall of the Lower Cassette. 5 Slide the Lower Cassette back into the base. Remember to adjust the paper stop guide on the output bin (see Figure 3-3). Printing Tasks 3-23
