7 DIGITAL SELECTIVE CALLING (DSC) ■ Multiple-task mode (For only the USA version, depending on the presetting) If the Multiple-task function is enabled, the transceiver can hold up to 7 tasks. You can 1 handle more than 2 DSC tasks simultaneously by switching between the tasks. To use the Multiple-task mode, select "Multiple" in the "Procedure" on the Menu screen. (p. 47) 2 [MENU] > Settings > DSC > Procedure 3 When the Multiple-task mode is activated, Task List is displayed on the operating screen. NOTE: The Task mode has a Time-out Timer (TOT) function. After a certain period of 4 time has passed without any operation on a task, the transceiver automatically deletes a task and returns to the operating screen. 5 When a Time-out Timer activates, an alarm sounds and a count down message is displayed for 10 seconds. 6 7 D Holding a DSC task 8 In the Multiple-task mode, you can hold or activate the DSC task as follows. Example: When a Group call is received: 9 1. Push Alarm OFF to turn OFF the alarm. • The received call's information is displayed. 10 2. Push Hold . • The received Group call task is held into the task list 11 and returns to the operating screen. 12 13 D Activating the held DSC task 1. Push Task List to display the task list. 14 • The task list is displayed. 15 16 17 2. Select the task that you want to activate. 18 3. Push Active to activate the task. • The activated task information is displayed. 4. Push [PTT] to communicate. 5. After finishing the communication, push Delete to delete the task. 44
