Hold the midplane board only by the edges and slide the midplane board in the direction shown to release it from the backplane (see letter "B" in Figure 59). 8. Removing the Midplane from the Server System AF002859 Installing the Midplane Board To install the midplane board, follow these steps: 1. Lower the midplane board into the system and position the midplane board over the retention pins (see letter "A" in Figure 60) . 2. Align the four holes on the midplane with the four standoffs on the chassis and press down uniformly until it clicks into place (see letter "B" in Figure 60). 3. Slide the midplane board in the direction shown (see letter "C" in Figure 60) and insert the midplane into the backplane connector. 4. Tighten the thumbscrew (see letter "D" in Figure 60). 6.
Unscrew the thumbscrew (see letter “A” in
Figure 59
).
7.
Hold the midplane board only by the edges and slide the midplane board in the
direction shown to release it from the backplane (see letter “B” in
Figure 59
).
8.
Lift the midplane board over the retention pins (see letter “C” in
Figure 59
) and out
of the server system (see letter “D” in
Figure 59
).

Installing the Midplane Board
To install the midplane board, follow these steps:
1.
Lower the midplane board into the system and position the midplane board over the
retention pins (see letter “A” in
Figure 60
) .
2.
Align the four holes on the midplane with the four standoffs on the chassis and
press down uniformly until it clicks into place (see letter “B” in
Figure 60
).
3.
Slide the midplane board in the direction shown (see letter “C” in
Figure 60
) and
insert the midplane into the backplane connector.
4.
Tighten the thumbscrew (see letter “D” in
Figure 60
).
