Basic playback operations To Play Play from a point where you stopped the player previously Play from the first track Stop Search Pause/Resume play after pausing Stop playback Select a track directly viewing track number or name Find the beginning of the current track or previous tracks Find the beginning of the next track Go backwards or forward Cue to the next or previous group while playing track in a group* (Group skip) Remove the disc Operation on the player (Operation on the remote is in parentheses) Press the 5-way control key (/ENT). (Press .) From stop, press and hold the 5-way control key (/ENT) until playback starts. (From stop, press and hold  until playback starts.) Press the 5-way control key (/ENT). (Press .) Press /CANCEL. (Press .) Turn the jog dial to select the desired track, and then press the 5-way control key (/ENT). Push the 5-way control key toward  once, or push the 5-way control key toward  repeatedly until you reach the beginning of the desired track. (Press  once, or press  repeatedly to select the desired track.) Push the 5-way control key toward  once. (Press  once.) During playback or pause, push and hold the 5-way control key toward /. (During playback or pause, hold /.) Push the 5-way control key toward +/- repeatedly. (Press +/- repeatedly.) Press /CANCEL and open the lid**. (Press  and open the lid.) * Cues to the beginning of every 10th track during playback of the disc with no group settings. ** Once you open the lid, the point to start play will change to the beginning of the first track. Notes The playback sound may skip if: - the player is subjected to strong, repeated shocks. - a dirty or scratched disc is played. When using a disc in Hi-MD mode, the sound may drop out for a maximum of about 12 seconds. 20
