Shooting/Viewing still images Symptom The subject does not appear in the display. The image is out of focus. The player cannot record still images. The flash does not work. The date and time are recorded incorrectly. The player cannot playback still images. Even though you attempted to delete all of the files, the disc is still not empty. You have deleted an image by mistake. Case and/or corrective action  The player is in the viewing mode. Press / to change to the shooting mode. ( page 24).  The subject is too close. Make sure to position the lens farther away from the subject than the shortest allowable shooting distance (normal shooting mode: 50 cm (20 inches); macro recording mode: 10 cm (4 inches)) when shooting.  No disc is inserted. Insert a disc.  The capacity of the disc is insufficient. Delete the still images saved in the disc or format it ( page 45).  You tried to shoot and save still images when using a disc in MD mode. Use a disc in Hi-MD mode ( page 67).  The flash is set to (no flash). Set the flash to auto (no indicator) or (Forced flash) ( page 31).  The date and time are not set correctly. Set the correct date and time ( page 17).  The player may not playback image files copied from the hard disk of your computer if the file name or file size has been changed or the image has been modified.  The disc contains a file with a file name or storage destination that was changed through the computer. Format the disc ( page 45).  Once you have deleted a file, you cannot restore it. 54
