Chapter 19 MSTP Commands MSTP (Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol), compatible with both STP and RSTP and subject to IEEE 802.1s, can disbranch a ring network. STP is to block redundant links and backup links as well as optimize paths. spanning-tree (global) Description The spanning-tree command is used to enable STP function globally. To disable the STP function, please use no spanning-tree command. Syntax spanning-tree no spanning-tree Command Mode Global Configuration Mode Example Enable the STP function: TL-SG2424P(config)# spanning-tree spanning-tree (interface) Description The spanning-tree command is used to enable STP function for a port.
