145 Exploring Your Options Exploring audio features Exploring audio features You can use your computer to record sounds using an external microphone or the computer's built-in microphone which is located on the front of the computer. You can play .wav sound files or audio CDs using the built-in speakers, headphones, or external speakers. NOTE SRS TruSurround XT and SRS WOW may ship with your computer. SRS TruSurround XT is available only when using WinDVD applications. SRS WOW is available only when using Windows Media Player 9. Playing an audio CD Insert an audio CD and close the disc tray. If the computer is turned on, Windows Media™ Player opens and the CD begins to play. You can use the Windows Media™ Player program to control the CD. If the computer is off, you can press the CD/DVD button to play the CD using QosmioPlayer (refer to "Using QosmioPlayer" on page 157) for more information. To access the Windows Media™ Player, you can open it through the Start menu or activate it from the taskbar. NOTE When using Windows Media Player, your system may not be able to activate Standby or Hibernation modes. To prevent this from occurring, close Windows Media Player before you select Standby or Hibernation mode.
