CHAPTER 10 Broadcast Storm Control This chapter introduces and shows you how to configure the broadcast storm control feature. 10.1 Broadcast Storm Control Setup Broadcast storm control limits the number of broadcast packets the Switch receives per second on the ports. When the maximum number of allowable broadcast packets is reached per second, the subsequent packets are discarded. Enable this feature to reduce broadcast packets in your network. Click Advanced Application > Broadcast Storm Control in the navigation panel to display the screen as shown next. Table 18 Advanced Application > Broadcast Storm Control LABEL DESCRIPTION Active Select this check box to enable traffic storm control on the Switch. Clear this check box to disable this feature. Bandwidth Enter the maximum percentage of bandwidth allowed to be taken up by broadcast Utilization Limit packets. Port This field displays the port number. Broadcast Storm Control Setup
Broadcast storm control limits the number of broadcast packets the Switch receives per second
on the ports. When the maximum number of allowable broadcast packets is reached per
second, the subsequent packets are discarded. Enable this feature to reduce broadcast packets
in your network.
