Printer Does Not Start or Stops Mid-job CHECK 2 DID YOU REMOVE THE ORANGE PROTECTIVE TAPE FROM THE PRINT HEAD? If the orange protective tape is not removed from the BJ cartridge, ink cannot be ejected from the BJ cartridge. Remove the BJ cartridge and check the print head. If the tape has not been removed, remove it. Replacing the BJ Cartridge I Cartridge Holder Does Not Move to Center You want to switch the BJ cartridge, replace an ink tank, or replace the BJ cartridge, but the cartridge holder does not move to the center when you open the front cover. CHECK 1 IS THE PRINTER TURNED ON? Confirm that the printer is plugged in. CHECK 2 HAVE YOU BEEN PRINTING FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD? The print head overheats if you print continuously for long periods. When this happens, the cartridge holder stops moving to protect the print head. Wait about 15 minutes for the print head to cool. Troubleshooting 196
