Diagnostic Tools 4-47 Compaq Restore CD The Compaq Restore CD is a set of Compaq-specific drivers and Compaq value added software that enables the workstation to operate at optimum performance. Updates are available on the Compaq website at www.compaq.com and through a subscription to the Compaq Support Software CD Kit. Updates for the restore CD are not available on the web or through subscription. It only ships with the unit. There is a Support Software CD that is available through paid subscription but it is a separate product. The Compaq Restore CD performs a complete restore. That is, every time the Restore CD is used the system will be erased and then will restore the entire operation system, drivers, and Compaq value added software.
