Removal and Replacement Procedures 3-45 Processor Guide Rails (URM) CAUTION: Static electricity can damage the electronic components of the workstation. Before beginning these procedures, be sure you are discharged of static electricity by briefly touching a grounded metal object. To remove the processor guide rails: 1. Perform the steps in the "Service Preparations" section as previously shown. CAUTION: Before removing the workstation access panel, ensure that the workstation is turned off, all cables are disconnected from the back of the workstation, and the power cord is disconnected from the grounded AC outlet. 2. Remove the workstation access panel. 3. Remove the graphics board. 4. Remove the speaker. 5. Remove the processor. 6. Unscrew the clay nuts 1 that secure the processor guide rails to the system board using a T15 torx drive. 7. Remove the guide rails 2. 2 1 Figure 3-40. Removing the processor guide rails from the system board To replace the processor guide rails: 1. Align the clay nuts with the threaded studs protruding through the system board. 2. Tighten the clay nuts using a T15 torx drive.

Processor Guide Rails (URM)
CAUTION:
Static electricity can damage the electronic components of the workstation. Before
beginning these procedures, be sure you are discharged of static electricity by briefly touching
a grounded metal object.
To remove the processor guide rails:
1.
Perform the steps in the “Service Preparations” section as previously shown.
CAUTION:
Before removing the workstation access panel, ensure that the workstation is
turned off, all cables are disconnected from the back of the workstation, and the power cord is
disconnected from the grounded AC outlet.
2.
Remove the workstation access panel.
3.
Remove the graphics board.
4.
Remove the speaker.
5.
Remove the processor.
6.
Unscrew the clay nuts
1
that secure the processor guide rails to the system board using a
T15 torx drive.

Remove the guide rails

To replace the processor guide rails:
1.
