Removal and Replacement Procedures 3-25 Installing an Expansion Board If the expansion board comes with jumper or switch settings, be sure to follow the setting instructions that have been provided with the board. To install a PCI expansion board: 1. Turn off the workstation and disconnect the power cord from the grounded AC outlet and the back of the workstation. Disconnect the network cable and any external devices from the system. 2. Remove the workstation access panel and locate the correct vacant slot in the workstation chassis. 3. Remove the screw securing the expansion slot cover, and then remove the slot cover as illustrated. Figure 3-24. Removing the screw and expansion slot cover To replace an expansion slot cover, reverse the above procedure.

Installing an Expansion Board
If the expansion board comes with jumper or switch settings, be sure to follow the setting
instructions that have been provided with the board.
To install a PCI expansion board:
1.
Turn off the workstation and disconnect the power cord from the grounded AC outlet and
the back of the workstation. Disconnect the network cable and any external devices from
the system.
2.
Remove the workstation access panel and locate the correct vacant slot in the workstation
chassis.
3.
Remove the screw securing the expansion slot cover, and then remove the slot cover as
illustrated.
