Inserting a Hard Drive into the MultiBay If you are moving a hard drive from the hard drive bay to the MultiBay, remove the hard drive from the hard drive tray. Refer to the "Removing a Hard Drive from the Hard Drive Bay" section in this chapter for more information. A 17-mm hard drive must be inserted into a Dual-MultiBay Hard Drive Adapter before being inserted into the computer MultiBay. A 12.7-mm hard drive can be inserted into either a Dual-MultiBay Hard Drive Adapter or an Armada MultiBay hard drive adapter before being inserted into the computer MultiBay(s). 1. Save all work, exit all applications, and shut down the computer. 2. Push back and hold the slide tab 1 on the hard drive MultiBay adapter (Figures 5-18 and 5-19). 3. Lower the hard drive 2 into the adapter. 4. Slide the hard drive toward the connector 3 in the adapter until the connectors are seated. Figure 5-18. Removal and Replacement Procedures
Inserting a Hard Drive into the MultiBay
If you are moving a hard drive from the hard drive bay to the MultiBay, remove the
hard drive from the hard drive tray. Refer to the “Removing a Hard Drive from the
Hard Drive Bay” section in this chapter for more information.
A 17-mm hard drive must be inserted into a Dual-MultiBay Hard Drive Adapter before
being inserted into the computer MultiBay. A 12.7-mm hard drive can be inserted into
either a Dual-MultiBay Hard Drive Adapter or an Armada MultiBay hard drive adapter
before being inserted into the computer MultiBay(s).
1.
Save all work, exit all applications, and shut down the computer.
2.
Push back and hold the slide tab

on the hard drive MultiBay adapter (Figures 5-18
and 5-19).
3.
Lower the hard drive

into the adapter.
4.
Slide the hard drive toward the connector

in the adapter until the connectors
are seated.
