Open the CD-ROM drive tray by pressing the Load/Unload button on the front panel of the drive. 3. Place the SmartStart and Support Software CD in the tray, handling it by its edges, not by the flat surfaces of the disk. 4. Close the tray by pressing the drive tray back into the CD drive. Opening the Internal CD-ROM Tray Manually If the CD-ROM tray does not open automatically, you can open it manually by using the emergency Load/Unload button. CAUTION: Before beginning this procedure, place the server in Standby mode. NOTE: Certain applications or operating system software may disable the Load/Unload button to prevent accidental damage to the disk. If the Load/Unload button is disabled by the application software, it does not operate. 1. Insert a metal rod, such as a straightened paper clip, into the manual effect hole and push firmly. The tray releases. 2. Slowly pull the tray out from the drive until the tray is fully extended, then remove the disk. To configure the server and load the operating system, refer to the SmartStart documentation provided in the Server Setup and Management pack that shipped with your server. To manage the system, refer to the Compaq Management CD provided in the Server Setup and Management pack that shipped with your server.

Installing the SmartStart and Support Software CD
1.
With the server turned on, locate the CD-ROM drive.
2.
Open the CD-ROM drive tray by pressing the Load/Unload button on
the front panel of the drive.
3.
Place the SmartStart and Support Software CD in the tray, handling it by
its edges, not by the flat surfaces of the disk.
4.
Close the tray by pressing the drive tray back into the CD drive.
Opening the Internal CD-ROM Tray Manually
If the CD-ROM tray does not open automatically, you can open it manually by
using the emergency Load/Unload button.
CAUTION:
Before beginning this procedure, place the server in Standby mode.
NOTE:
Certain applications or operating system software may disable the Load/Unload
button to prevent accidental damage to the disk. If the Load/Unload button is disabled by
the application software, it does not operate.
