5-10 Compaq ProLiant 6400R Setup and Installation Guide Connecting to a Remote Machine Select the remote machine to which you want to connect by any of the following methods: Type the name of the machine in the combo box and press Enter. Select one of the ten most recently connected machines from the dropdown list. Click the Browse button to bring up a machine selection dialog box. Replacing an Adapter 1. In the PCI Hot Plug Utility, turn the power off to the required slot by selecting it and clicking the Power button. 2. On the server, disconnect the cables if necessary, open the slot release lever, and remove the card. 3. Put in the new card, attach the appropriate cables, and close the lever. 4. In the PCI Hot Plug Utility, turn the power on to the slot by selecting it and clicking the Power button. Compaq PCI Hot Plug Utility Messages The requested machine is not running the Compaq Remote Control service. You cannot connect to the specified machine because it is not running the Compaq Remote Control service. You don't have an account on the requested machine. You cannot connect to the specified server because you do not have an account on it. This machine does not have any PCI Hot Plug slots. The machine is running the service but there are no PCI Hot Plug slots to view. The service on the machine has shut down or has become unavailable. The service on the machine you are viewing has shut down or has become unavailable.

Connecting to a Remote Machine
Select the remote machine to which you want to connect by any of the
following methods:
Type the name of the machine in the combo box and press
Enter
.
Select one of the ten most recently connected machines from the drop-
down list.
Click the Browse button to bring up a machine selection dialog box.
Replacing an Adapter
1.
In the PCI Hot Plug Utility, turn the power off to the required slot by
selecting it and clicking the Power button.
2.
On the server, disconnect the cables if necessary, open the slot release
lever, and remove the card.
3.
Put in the new card, attach the appropriate cables, and close the lever.
4.
In the PCI Hot Plug Utility, turn the power on to the slot by selecting it
and clicking the Power button.
Compaq PCI Hot Plug Utility Messages
The requested machine is not running the Compaq Remote Control service
.
You cannot connect to the specified machine because it is not running the
Compaq Remote Control service.
You don't have an account on the requested machine
. You cannot connect to
the specified server because you do not have an account on it.
This machine does not have any PCI Hot Plug slots
. The machine is running the
service but there are no PCI Hot Plug slots to view.
The service on the machine has shut down or has become unavailable.
The
service on the machine you are viewing has shut down or has become
unavailable.
