Parts removal order Use the following diagram to determine which parts must be removed before removing other parts: Pickup roller Separation pad Transfer roller Left side cover Optional copier/scanner Back cover Right side cover Top cover Formatter ECU Solenoid Fan assembly Control panel Front cover assembly Right plate assembly Pickup assembly Pickup roller shaft (ECU) Paper lift plate assembly Paper-feed assembly (Formatter) Left plate assembly Laser/scanner Fuser assembly Output rollers Motor Note The ECU and the formatter are listed twice. The ECU must be removed to gain access to the paper-feed assembly. To remove the ECU only, remove the right side cover. The formatter must be removed to gain access to the left plate assembly.
