Front Bezel Replacement Front Bezel Replacement The rp24xx server does not have to be turned off to replace the bezel. WARNING Do not lift or carry the server by the bezel. The bezel is made of plastic and is attached to the server chassis by two bezel retainers and four ball-posts. It will only support the weight of the server chassis in an emergency. Failure to heed this warning may result in personal injury and/or permanent damage to the server. To replace the bezel, grasp the bezel at the sides and align the bezel sockets with the bezel retainers and ball-posts on the server and push straight in. The bezel will lock into place. CAUTION During replacement, do not twist or wiggle the bezel from side-to-side any more than necessary to keep from damaging the bezel socket. The following illustration shows a server and bezel with the bezel retainers and ball posts in an exploded view. As you are facing the front of the server, item 1 is the left bezel retainer with two ball posts, and item 2 is the right bezel retainer with two ball posts. CAUTION Left and right bezel retainers are NOT interchangeable. The following picture shows one server with the front bezel attached and one server without. Chapter 231

The rp24xx server does not have to be turned off to replace the bezel.

attached to the server chassis by two bezel retainers and four ball-posts. It will only
