Memory DIMM Replacement Memory DIMM Replacement Memory DIMMs reside in sockets located on the right side (from the front) of the System Board. CAUTION Ensure that the system is shut down and power removed from the server before attempting removal or replacement of a component. To replace a memory DIMM, perform the following steps: CAUTION Be careful to insert the DIMM into the socket evenly. Do not rock the DIMM when seating it. Step 1. Match the guide slots on the bottom of the DIMM with the guides on the socket and seat the memory DIMM into the socket. Insert the DIMM connectors into the guides until the card snaps firmly in place. It may be necessary to apply downward force using the palm of your hand on the DIMM. Ensure that one side the DIMM is not higher than the other. Step 2. Use the BCH command in me to verify that the system recognizes the memory that you have just replaced. The following picture shows the memory DIMMs located on the right side (from the server front) of the server system board.
