X1 is the scan direction for a single-sided page or for the second side of a two-sided page. X2 is the scan direction for the first side of a twosided page. The feed direction is referred to as Y. Y1 is the feed direction for a single-sided page or for the second side of a two-sided page. Y2 is the feed direction for the first side of a twosided page. Use it only when you are printing on mixed paper types. When EXPANDED SENSING is selected, the product senses only the first page and assumes the rest of the pages are the same type. The product can distinguish light paper, plain paper, heavy paper, glossy paper, tough paper, or transparencies. When TRANSPARENCY ONLY is selected, the product senses only the first page.
