Known Issues
Read the following section for a list of current Version 4.0.2b limitations and
possible workarounds.
Ethernet Port Lockup
Switches running 4.0.2b code that are connected to the network may experience
an ethernet port lockup, which disallows using telnet or web tools to manage the
switch. This can be caused by auto-negotiation setting the port to full duplex. You
can check this by using the
ifmodeshow
command.
admin> ifmodeshow "eth0"
Link mode: negotiated 100baseTx-FD, link ok
admin>
If you experience a port lockup, hard set the port to 100, half duplex.
admin> ifmodeset "eth0"
Encoding Out Error Count
Encoding Out Error Counts vary under the following conditions:
When the switch port is set to auto-negotiation, and an N-port device is
connected, the port synchronization takes longer to complete, and a larger
error count displays.
