Parts Removal and Replacement Power Supply Power Supply This section describes how to remove and replace the Power Supply. NOTE Prior to removing the Power Supply, the Top, Front, and Side Panels need to be removed. Refer to the appropriate section(s) for the steps to remove and replace these components. 1. Facing the power supply, remove the PCI retainer clip by pressing down on the top of the clip and pulling it out (see Step 1 below). Figure 2-8. Removing the Power Supply, Steps 1-3 Step 1: Remove PCI Retainer Clip Step 2: Remove Busbar Shield Step 3: Remove Busbar Screws 2. Remove the bus bar shield by pulling outward on its latch, and then lifting it up (Step 2 above). This shield can be used to hold the screws you will remove in the next step. 3. Remove the four T-15 Torx thumbscrews (five screws if it's a J7000) from the power supply bus bars (Step 3 above). The bus bar screws are longer than the other T-15 Torx screws. Chapter 2 19

Parts Removal and Replacement
Power Supply
Power Supply
This section describes how to remove and replace the Power Supply.
NOTE
Prior to removing the Power Supply, the Top, Front, and Side Panels need to
be removed. Refer to the appropriate section(s) for the steps to remove and
replace these components.
1.
Facing the power supply, remove the PCI retainer clip by pressing down on the top of
the clip and pulling it out (see Step 1 below).

2. Remove the bus bar shield by pulling outward on its latch, and then lifting it up (Step 2
above). This shield can be used to hold the screws you will remove in the next step.
